As a follow-on to my post on the "extra 30 years" we've been given, have you tried to estimate what your life expectancy might be? I mean aside from reciting how long Mom and Dad lived, holding a wet finger up to the wind, and then taking a wild guess?
There are a number of online life expectancy calculators out there, but I really like Living to 100's.
Of course, none of us have any guarantees we won't take that dirt nap starting tomorrow. But a more scientific approach to estimating our life expectancy can be helpful in planning a purposeful and fulfilling life...and it's critically important for estimating how your financial resources will sustain it.
